The ISAP line (Athens-Piraeus Electric Railways) and the Piraeus terminal is a historic and very important project, because it is the main means of transport that connects the city of Piraeus with the center of Athens. The station is located in the NE corner of the port of Piraeus. This is a work of architect Ioannis Mich. Axelou, which was built in 1928-29. The building presents impressive eclectic morphological elements, while the large arched dome refers to European standards. The structure is metal, modular, with transparent housetop. Two-story supporting buildings surround the station. The arrivals-departures room and the metal canopy that covers it are completely hidden from the faces of the building and the adjacent engine room and so it is perceived after entering the building.
