The ” Vatti Brothers Mansion ” (or Vati) or ” Kolokotronis Mansion” is located at the junction of Aktis Miaouli and Bouboulinas Streets and was built in 1924-1925 by the architect A. Nikoloudis. Nikoloudis’ work, which contributed to the urban modernization of Athens, was characterized by clear European influences with distinctly cosmopolitan elements. Buildings such as the Livieratos Palace, Cinema ” Attikon “, the Saroglio Palace and the Hippodrome in Faliron Delta are some of his best-known works, which display morphological elements of eclecticism. The Vatti Brothers Mansion was built and intended for two uses since the beginning. One part was used to house commercial enterprises and the other to house a luxury hotel, namely “Diethnes”. Just after the end of the civil war, the Wreck Salvage Service was installed in the building, while during the decades of the 1950s and 1960s the offices of the Potamianou Company (Mainland Steamship Company) and the Chandri Shipping Company were housed there. In 1970, the building became property of the National Bank and until today it houses one of its branches.
