The recent creations of Piraeus architecture (of the 19th century) are built following the morphology of Neoclassical style, which prevailed in the period after the establishment of the Neo-Hellenic state, expressing the spirit of the time.

The urban architecture of the city, as it was shaped at the end of the 19th century, was characterized by strong monumentality in the scale rendering and the morphoplastic character of the faces, which is found not only in public buildings, but also in private detached houses.
