Building at 15 Tsamadou Street

7635

It is a four-story abandoned building with special morphological characteristics on its facade. The first floor is traversed by a single uniform balcony, with a simple decorative railing, alternating with vertical support elements with a curved end, referring to Art Deco influences. The second floor has three balconies with corresponding railings of the same morphology. The third floor is a subsequent addition, maintaining, however, the same number and organization of openings, as well as the same construction technique of the three balustrades. Impressive are the vertical pilasters with imposts decorated with Ionic spirals along the ground floor and both other two floors, as well as at the two extreme corners of the building. The second floor is vertically decorated with a wide horizontal band of meanders that runs across the entire face at the level of the lintels, just below the roof eaves of the originally two-story building’s rooftop. Corresponding decorations can be seen at the height of the lintel on the upper transom of the three first floor openings.
