Building at 23 Efploias Street

7659

It is a two-storey residential building of the early 20th century, with elements of neoclassical design. The facade is structured in horizontal bands, while a protruding cornice with bands and moldings at floor level separates the ground floor from the first floor. The finial of the building has an entablature, while the edge of the roof is covered by antefixes. On the first floor, protruding false pilasters with Corinthian imposts demarcate two zones. The central axis of the main section includes a balcony, supported on marble corbels and adorned with an elaborate cast-iron railing. Both entrances on the ground floor have cornice framing and a row of dentils to their lintels. The windows have wooden French shutters, while the existing exterior metal doors are later additions.
